The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-29
Resolution to approve continuation of 2010 Community Action / Disaster Plan.
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello participated in the preparation of a Multi-Jurisdictional Disaster Plan that took effect in 2010, and
WHEREAS, the previously prepared Disaster Plan is undergoing review and updating, and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator has reviewed the plan with the City Council and the Mayor, specifically discussing any changes in circumstances within the City of Monticello since the preparation of the 2010 plan, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that there have been no significant changes in the community since the effective date of the existing plan but for the City buy out of ten properties, three commercial and seven residential in the flood plain along Kitty Creek; no new potential disasters have been identified and it does not appear that any changes to the planned City response, noted in the existing plan, are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby conclude that the content of the existing Multi-Jurisdictional Disaster Plan for Jones County, adequately provides for the Community of Monticello, Iowa, with the Community not seeing substantial changes in circumstances that would call for or justify a change to the existing plan since its’ effective date.
