The City of Monticello, Iowa

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA

RESOLUTION # 2021-57

Approving contracting with LL Pelling Co. to complete various Sealcoating projects

WHEREAS, The City of Monticello sought a proposal from LL Pelling to sealcoat various locations in the community, and

WHEREAS, The Public Works Department has identified a number of locations that are in need of sealcoating maintenance work, and

WHEREAS, The proposed estimated cost using ¾” chips is $80, 887.40, after removing the Type A Work on First Street, for the following streets:

1. First Street from Hwy 38 to concrete                                                
2. First Street from concrete to Bridge asphalt                                      
3. First Street from Bridge asphalt thru Riverview Court Intersection 
4. Park Drive from Hwy 38 to concrete                                                
5. Crescent Court Loop from Park Blvd to Park Blvd                          
6. Crescent Court Culdesac (160 SY)                                                   
7. Crescent Court Culdesac (650 SY)                                                   
8. Carmel from Park Blvd to El Camino                                                           
9. Carmel from Park Blvd to El Camino                                                           
10. El Camino from Hwy 38 to concrete                                                   
11. Locust from Hwy 38 to Grand                                                          
12. Grand from Locust to Hwy 38                                                           
13. Washington from Hwy 38 to Locust                                                 
14. Washington from Locust to Dead End                                              
15. Timberline from Northhaven to Pinehaven                                       
16. Lincoln Dr from Southhaven to Timberline                                       
17. Lincoln Dr from Timberline to Southhaven                                      

And,

WHEREAS,   The proposal notes that the final cost of all work and materials will be based on actual quantities, and

WHEREAS,  The Council finds that the City should contract with LL Pelling, Co. to perform the work as proposed, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve contracting with LL Pelling Co. to complete sealcoating projects as set forth previously herein and authorizes the PW Director to accept the proposals of LL Pelling Co. on behalf of the City.
