The City of Monticello, Iowa

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA

 

RESOLUTION #17-77

To acknowledge receipt of bids and award project in relation to the demolition  of the home located at 224 N. Chestnut Street, Monticello, Iowa

WHEREAS,                The City of Monticello acquired the home located at 224 N. Chestnut Street, with the intent to demolish the home to prepare the lot for sale and / or development, and

WHEREAS,                The City advertised for demolition bids and received three bid(s), as follows:

1. B & J Hauling & Excavation, Inc              $9,750.00
2. Jerry McElmeel Excavating & Grading   $12,300.00
3. Lansing Bros Construction Co Inc           $12,760.00

WHEREAS,                The Council finds that demolition should proceed with a completion date of on or before July 14, 2017, that the bid(s) are reasonable and appropriate, and that the City should award the demolition project to B & J Hauling & Excavation, Inc., the low bidder or to Lansing Bros Construction Co Inc, if OSHA asbestos certified is required.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby accept the bids and does hereby award 224 N. Chestnut Street demolition project to B & J Hauling & Excavation, Inc in the amount of $9,750.00 or to Lansing Bros Construction Co Inc, if OSHA asbestos certified is required and authorizes the City Administrator to execute all documents necessary to proceed with this project.
