RESOLUTION #16-130
Resolution approving Communication Site, Co-Location Agreement between the
City of Monticello and the Jones County E911 Service Commission
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, A request was made by the Jones County E911 Service Commission to relocate existing communication equipment and towers from the City of Monticello north water tower to the City of Monticello south water tower, and
WHEREAS, The Council previously determined that the movement of said equipment from one tower to the other would be of benefit to emergency management and emergency response in the Monticello area and would in no way negatively impact the City of Monticello, and
WHEREAS, The Council has been presented with a proposed lease document entitled, “Communication Site Co-Location Agreement, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator and the Police Chief have reviewed the language of the agreement and have made modifications thereto after its’ presentation by the E911 Board, and both are of the opinion that the Agreement should be approved by the Council and will then be approved by the E911 Board, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds, based upon the advice and guidance of the City Administrator and the Chief of Police that the proposed Agreement should be approved.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 19th day of December, 2016, does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute the proposed agreement on behalf of the City Council.
