IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-90
Approving naming of “Old” Ball Diamond, near Football Field, “Lion’s Club Field”.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello, Iowa little league baseball program was long supported by the Monticello Lion’s Club, and
WHEREAS, The ball diamond near the football field has long been known as the “old” diamond, and it would be appropriate to name the field, and just as appropriate to name it the Lion’s Club Field in recognition of their many years of support for youth baseball in Monticello, and
WHEREAS, The Park and Recreation Board recommends this name change, the Lion’s Club is supportive of the name change, and the Lion’s Club will provide signage, at their expense, as approved by the Park Board to be located at the field
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa that the ball diamond long known as the “old” diamond may be and is hereby named the “Lion’s Club Field”, in recognition of the many years of commitment and investment by the Monticello Lion’s Club in the youth baseball programs in Monticello.
IN THE TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal for the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed. Done this 18th day of August 2014.
