The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-76
Resolution to approve credit to the Utility Account of Monticello resident Levi Zumbrunnen related to the excessive use of water to prevent frozen service line.
WHEREAS, the Council has been aware of citizens running water within their property to avoid the prospect of a frozen water service line and/or a frozen sewer line, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds the act of running water by said residents to have been justified, the community facing many frozen service lines during the last winter, and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator with the assistance of the Deputy City Clerk determined average uses for those residents that allowed their water to run and compared said average use to notable above average periods during which it was clear that the resident ran their water to avoid freezing lines, and
WHEREAS, based upon the above utility account review the Council approved a number of credits at prior meetings, and now finds, utilizing the same analysis that was performed for purposes of credit calculation at that time that a credit should be applied, with any and all applicable taxes to be credited as well, to the utility account of the following person:
1. Levi Zumbrunnen – 211 N. Walnut Street $80.02
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the granting of a credit to the Zumbrunnen account at the address identified above and directs the City Clerk’s Office to appropriately credit the account in said amount.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed hereto. Done this 21st day of July, 2014.
