IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #14-45
Resolution to approve the sale of 2003 Ford Ambulance to the City of Hopkinton
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello has had a continuing relationship with the City of Hopkinton, from an emergency services standpoint, for a number of years, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the prior relationship between the City of Monticello and the City of Hopkinton required the City of Monticello to maintain an ambulance in the City of Hopkinton, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello and the City of Hopkinton have entered into a new agreement, removing the provision that Monticello maintain an ambulance unit in Hopkinton, among other amendments, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello recently received a new ambulance, trading in our oldest unit, and now, with the amendment to the agreement between the Cities has three ambulances in Monticello with a need for two, and
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello will continue to provide Emergency Medical Services to the City of Hopkinton, and the City of Hopkinton will commence operation of a first responders unit and will take on all responsibility for and expense related to the operation of their first responder unit, and desires to purchase our 2003 unit and some of the equipment located therein, (Kenwood radio that is already installed on the unit ,Two rechargeable flashlights with mounted chargers, Portable O2 tank with bag, Thomas Pack jump bag with supplies, Portable Suction Unit, KED device, Traction splints, Cot and mounting supplies (Yoke and Latch), Pediatric Bag, Pediatric Backboard, AED, Automatic Blood Pressure machine, CPAP Machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), the equipment being in most cases the third set of equipment owned by the Monticello Ambulance Service, only needing equipment for two ambulances, and
WHEREAS, The Ambulance Director and City Administrator have concluded that the sale price of $15,000 is fair and appropriate and in the best interests of the City of Monticello, and recommend to the Council that the sale to the City of Hopkinton of the ambulance and related equipment be approved, and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the sale of the 2003 ambulance with the equipment noted above for the sum of $15,000 is appropriate and in the best interests of the City of Monticello.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the proposed Bill of Sale between the City of Monticello and the City of Hopkinton, resulting in the sale of the 2003 Ford ambulance and equipment, noted previously herein, to the City of Hopkinton for the sum of $15,000, and authorizes the Mayor to execute the Bill of Sale and vehicle title/registration.
