IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-76
Resolution to approve Second Water Meter and waiver of sewer fees related thereto
for Innovative Ag. Service (IAS), and granting of credit for sewer fees on
water usage prior to installation of second meter.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is appropriate to permit the installation of a second water meter by Innovative Ag. Services to measure water used solely for the filling of tanks that will be used for field application (water will not enter the sanitary sewer system), and
WHEREAS, the meter shall be installed, and uninstalled, by a professional licensed plumber in the spring and in the fall with IAS being responsible for all costs of installation/uninstallation and any costs related to meter repair or replacement, and
WHEREAS, IAS had been utilizing City water for tanker filling purposes for a portion of the June and July billing periods and throughout the August billing period, and the Council finds that IAS should be granted a sewer credit for water used those months that the Council finds was used for tanker filling purposes, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that IAS used at least 16,000, 53,000, and 18,000 gallons, respectively, during the months of June, July, and August, for water tanker filling purposes and should be granted a credit in the amounts of $93.36, $309.26, and $105.03, respectively, for a total sewer credit of $507.65, plus any applicable taxes that may apply.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby permit the installation and continued use of a second water meter as outlined herein by IAS and grants a credit against the IAS sewer fees accumulated during the June, July, and August, 2013 billing periods in the total amount of $507.65, plus any applicable taxes that may apply.
