The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #13-104
Resolution directing City Administrator to seek bids to line the new Oak Street “shelter”.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello acquired the property formerly home of Oak Street Manufacturing through a FEMA supported flood buyout and was given permission to keep a building as a shelter, under certain terms and conditions, and
WHEREAS, One of the FEMA requirements is that the siding on the shelter needs to be removed up to the purlin above the garage doors, leaving the inside open and available to the weather and birds, and
WHEREAS, The ceiling of the shelter is lined with simple saver insulation and when the siding is cut off the cut edge will require trimming, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator should be given direction to seek bids/quotes to trim out the ceiling of the shelter and the siding of the shelter in such a way as to “weatherize” it and prevent nesting of birds, and
WHEREAS, when bids/quotes are received they will be brought to the City Council for consideration and approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct the City Administrator to prepare bid specifications and seek bids/quotes to line and trim the Oak Street shelter as soon as possible, bring said bids/quotes to the City Council for approval.
