IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-93
Resolution to accept and approve bids received on noticed sale of City owned
building frame and related components.
WHEREAS, the City of Monticello sought bids related to the sale of an old building frame previously dismantled at the old public works building site, and
WHEREAS, after initial plans to reconstruct the frame on the grounds of the new Public Works Building site the decision was made to move forward with plans for a new building of a greater size, resulting in the City having no continuing need for the old building frame, and
WHEREAS, the City published a Notice to Bidders in the Monticello Express seeking sealed bids from interested purchasers of the old building frame and components, and
WHEREAS, the City received six (6) sealed bids with the first bid received, from Dave Goedken, being the highest bid, at $1,116.00, the other bids ranging from $410.00 to $1,111.00, and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator personally received the bid from Dave Goedken in a sealed envelope on June 7, 2012 at 12:07 p.m., initialing and dating the envelope and subsequently time stamping the envelope at 12:10 p.m. (This specific information is noted due to the fact that Dave is a City Council person and it is important to note the specific facts to avoid an appearance of anything other than a fair bidding process.)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby accept the bids related to the sale of the old Public Works building frame and related components and does hereby authorize the sale of same to the high bidder, Dave Goedken, for the sum of $1,116.00.
