RESOLUTION #12-52
Approving Storm Water Agreement related to Storm Water Cost Share
request from Great Jones County Fair on approximate 10 acre parcel
located just North of Fairgrounds.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello previously enacted a storm water management ordinance to be used by the City for City storm water related purposes, and/or to be used as a cost share with private property owners on storm water related projects, and
WHEREAS, The City Ordinance provides that the City contribution in a private project may not exceed 50% of that project cost, and
WHEREAS, The Great Jones County Fair and Food Fest requested cost share on a tiling and re-grading project on ten (10) acres of ground owned by the Fair just north of the Fairgrounds, same to be used primarily for campground purposes during the Fair, and the City previously approved of the cost share so long as an agreement were reached between the Fair and the City allowing the City to continue the discharge of storm water from Maple Street and related streets over and through this property to the Maquoketa River, and
WHEREAS, The Fair has agreed to the terms of such an agreement, a copy of same being appended hereto and the Council finds the terms of the agreement to be consistent with the Council’s intentions in approving the cost share at the last City Council meeting.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 2nd day of April, 2012, that the proposed agreement between the City of Monticello and the Jones County Fair, as appended hereto, is hereby approved, and the Mayor is hereby directed to execute same on behalf of the Monticello City Council.
