IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #12-144
Approving Accent Construction Pay Request #1
related to the 2012 City of Monticello Street Repair projects, Bid Package #1 and bid Package #2.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello, Iowa is an incorporated city within Jones County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Accent Construction contracted with the City to perform various street repairs during the 2012 construction season as part of what has been referred to as the 2012 Street Repair Projects, and
WHEREAS, Accent Construction has completed portions of the work they were hired to complete and have submitted a pay requests for Bid Package #1 and Bid Package #2, in the amounts of $7,199 and $18,348, respectively, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the billing for Bid Package #1 exceeds the original estimate by $475.00 and that Bid Package #2 exceeds the original estimate by $12,518.00, and further recognizes that the final billings are based upon the unit pricing set out within the bid documents and are, particularly in the case of bid package #2 substantially higher due to a change in the scope of work determined to be appropriate during the course of their work, and
WHEREAS, A review of the pay requests and the actual work completed to date, by both the PW Director and the City Engineer supports the pay request and the Council finds that same should be approved.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve the Accent Construction Pay Requests related to Bid Package #1 and Bid Package #2, fully acknowledging the differences in said invoices from the original bid amounts, and to the extent that said differences may be considered a Change Order do hereby approve the Change Order, in the amounts of $7,199 and $18,348, respectively.
