RESOLUTION #12-121
Resolution to approve Proposed Joint “Amber Road” project between Jones County and the City of Monticello.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City has been approached by Jones County, through the Jones County Engineer, with a request that the City share in the costs related to the resurfacing and related improvements to portions of the Amber Road, by covering costs related to the portion of Amber Road lying in the City limits, east of the Amber Road Bridge, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that it would be preferable to get more notice of potential joint projects so that the City could be involved in the planning phases but that it appears to make sense to share in the costs of this proposed project
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 4th day of September, 2012, that the City Administrator is directed to notify the County Engineer that the City would like more notice of proposed shared projects in the future but that the Council finds that the City should work with the County on this joint project, hereby approves the proposed “joint” Amber Road project and further agrees to amend the budget if necessary to accommodate for this project.
