IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 12-110
Denying Request of Steve Ehrisman to hunt Coyotes
within the Monticello City limits
WHEREAS, Ehrisman has requested permission of the City Council to hunt coyotes on his property within the Monticello City Limits, and
WHEREAS, Ehrisman proposes that the coyotes are a nuisance and are in such a number as to put livestock at risk, and
WHEREAS, The Police Chief has reviewed the request and has provided the Council with a letter outlining the options as he sees them, and
WHEREAS, The Council, after consideration of the request and the options presented by the Police Chief finds that, due to the close proximity of residential properties and other options to take care of the coyote problem, the request should be denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby deny Steve Ehrisman’s request to hunt coyotes within the Monticello on his property within the Monticello City limits.
