IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION # 11- 157
Setting forth intent to renew lease between the City of Monticello and the Monticello Golf Club for a period of twenty-five years and scheduling a Public Hearing on said proposed lease extension
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello entered into a lease agreement with the Monticello Golf Club on or about the 1st day of July 1987, whereby the City leased certain grounds to the Monticello Golf Club for a period of twenty-five (25) years, and
WHEREAS, The above-referenced lease is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2012, and
WHEREAS, The Golf Club has reviewed the current lease and has requested that the City Council extend the lease for a term of twenty-five (25) years under the same terms and conditions of the current lease, and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code § 364.7 requires that the City Council set and hold a public hearing before entering into a lease of more than three (3) years, and for that reason the Council finds it appropriate to schedule public hearing on the proposed extension of the existing lease agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby schedule a public hearing on the proposed extension of the lease agreement between the City of Monticello and the Monticello Golf Club, presently set to expire on June 30, 2012 for the 21st day of November, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting scheduled for that date after which the Council will consider the approval of a Resolution extending said lease agreement.
