The City of Monticello, Iowa
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-147
Resolution to waive portion of Pam Brink’s Sewer bill.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Pam Brink experienced a much higher than normal water/sewer billing for the period of August 10 – October 7, 2011, and
WHEREAS, It has been reported that the substantial increase in water usage by Brink was related to a leak under the trailer on said property, allowing the water to run freely into the earth below the trailer, therefore not entering the sanitary sewer system, and was therefore not treated at the Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, Based upon the fact that the leaking water did not receive treatment at the sewage treatment facility, the Council finds it appropriate to waive that portion of the sewer billing that exceeds the normal and customary sewer usage by Brink, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the high end of “normal” sewer usage at this property is approximately $18.00 per month, and finds, therefore, that the sewage billing of $168.87 if reduced by the normal usage of $36.00, would support a credit of $132.87.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby waive a portion of the Sewer portion of the Brink’s account, as described herein, in the amount of $132.87.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of the City of Monticello, Iowa to be affixed hereto. Done this 17th day October, 2011.
