RESOLUTION #11-107
Resolution to approve Emergency Siren Plan
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that the purchase, maintenance, and placement of emergency sirens in the community is an obligation of the City, and
WHEREAS, The Council further finds that due to the growth of the community, the current sirens do not provide adequate coverage to the entire community, and
WHEREAS, The Council further finds that two of the existing sirens utilized in the community tend to require regular inspection and maintenance, and are unreliable, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the Siren located on the flat portion of the roof at the Community Building is an eyesore, and that the roof below the system cannot be well maintained with the siren resting on said roof, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 18th day of July, 2011, that City staff is hereby directed to proceed with the installation of new emergency warning sirens as set out within the attached proposal, and to enter into an agreement with Fesler’s Inc to provide and install the sirens as recommended.
