IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
RESOLUTION #11-100
Resolution to approve Entry into Agreement with Seneca Companies to Perform Underground Storage Tank removal at Riddle Site.
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello is the owner of the property located at 615 E. Washington Street, Monticello, Iowa, former site of Riddle Manufacturing, and
WHEREAS, As owner of the property the City is responsible for the removal of an underground storage tank (UST) located at said property, and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator sought bids from licensed tank removal contractors, and has received and reviewed said bids, with the low bid of the four being received from Seneca Companies in the amount of $3,493, with the other bids coming in at $5,500, $8,065.59, and $10,417.82, respectively, and
WHEREAS, The low Bidder, Seneca, appears to be a responsible bidder, appropriately licensed, and prepared to move forward with the tank removal project, using a local excavator for the actual excavation portion of the project and the Council finds that the bid to remove the UST at the Riddle site should be awarded to Seneca Companies in the amount of $3,493.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby award the contract to remove the UST located at the Riddle property to Seneca Companies in the amount of $3,493, and does hereby authorize the Mayor Pro Tem to execute the Seneca Environmental Services Contract Agreement on the Council’s behalf.
