RESOLUTION # 10-74
Approving wages for non-bargaining staff for FY ’11.
WHEREAS, Most City employees wages are covered by a collective bargaining agreement where wages are pre-determined, and some are covered by employment agreements where wages and planned increases were bargained for and previously determined (City Admin., Police Chief, Ambul. Dir.), and
WHEREAS, Other City employees or positions are not covered by collective bargaining, such as the City Clerk, P.W. Director, Park and Rec. Director, City Custodian/Maintenance Man, Library Director and staff, Ambulance Volunteers, and Police Sergeants and Police Secretary / Local Access Coordinator, and
WHEREAS, The bargaining unit employees are set to get raises in the coming year in the approximate amount of 3.5%, same having been negotiated four years ago, FY ’11 being the last year of the four year agreement, and
WHEREAS, The City Council has historically granted wages to non-bargaining staff in a similar, but not necessarily equal, manner to bargaining employees, and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the Chief of Police, the following non-bargaining hourly employees would be paid, the following hourly rate(s) of pay effective July 1, 2010:
Sergeant Britt Smith: $ 21.45 / Hour (3.5% increase)
Sergeant Dawn Graver: $ 21.23 / Hour (3.5% increase)
Peg Merfeld(Secretary/Local Access) $ 16.02 / Hour (3.0% increase),
and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the Ambulance Director, the following rates of pay will be paid to Ambulance Dpt. Volunteers, same to take effect July 1, 2010
Fee to be Paid for 6-hour On-Call shift: $10.00 (Unchanged)
Ambulance driver: $ 7.47 / Hour (3.0% increase)
EMT-B or EMT-I: $10.30 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Paramedic: $12.36 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Paramedic Specialist: $13.39 / Hour (3.0% increase),
and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the Library Board, the following rates of pay will be paid to the indentified library employees, same to take effect July 1, 2010:
Nancy Digmann $16.55 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Toni Muller $10.51 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Michelle Turnis $ 9.65 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Jean Ebert $ 7.69 / Hour (3.0% increase)
Blair Benz $ 7.69 / Hour (3.0% increase),
and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the City Administrator, the following Department Heads will be paid the following salaries, same to take effect July 1, 2010:
City Clerk Sally Hinrichsen $53,878.45 / Year (3.25% increase)
P.W. Dir. Dana “Diz” Edwards $54,557.18 / Year (3.25% increase)
Park and Rec. Director Tami Bartram $37,170.00 / Year (3.25% increase),
and
WHEREAS, At the recommendation of the City Administrator, the following employees will be paid the following rate, same to take effect July 1, 2010:
Lyle (Bud) Holub $ 11.71/ Hour (3.0% increase),
And
WHEREAS, all of the above wage increases were contemplated and accounted for in the FY ’11 budget as previously approved by the City Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve of the wages and salaries set out above, said wages to take effect and be applicable to the first payroll issued during the month of July, 2010
