RESOLUTION # 10-39
Approving Porter & Porter Construction LLC Change Order Request #2 Re: Monticello Emergency Response Center, in the amount of $63,621.00
WHEREAS, Porter & Porter Construction LLC contracted with the City to complete construction of the Monticello Emergency Response Center, and
WHEREAS, The above-referenced project is proceeding, and Porter & Porter Construction has submitted their second Change Order, and
WHEREAS, The Change Order is largely tied to a change in the “low voltage” electrical portion of the project, which includes surveillance systems, speaker systems, door fob systems, and other miscellaneous installations, and
WHEREAS, The Original Contract was previously reduced by $23,150, largely tied to the removal of the original “low voltage” installation portion of the contract, so the net increase, after taking into account the previous deduct, is $40,471, and the new project “projected” total is $829,571.00, and
WHEREAS, The City Council previously held a work session to review the “low voltage” systems and proposals of the Ambulance/Police Departments in regard thereto, and is fully aware of the changes to the project which brought about some of the increased costs included in the ITS bid (subcontractor) as shown within Porter and Porter’s Change Order request, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the Change Order is appropriate and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby approve Change Order #2 Re: Monticello Emergency Response Center project, in the amount of $63,621.
