RESOLUTION #10-37
Resolution to waive portion of Roman Welter Sewer bill.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Roman Welter experienced a much higher than normal water/sewer billing for the period of 9/3/2009 – 10/6/2009, and
WHEREAS, It has been reported that the substantial increase in water usage by Welter was related to a hose in his yard, with the spigot on supplying water through the hose to a nozzle, which at some point caused the hose to give, allowing the water to run freely into the lawn, therefore not entering the sanitary sewer system, and was therefore not treated at the Monticello Sewage Treatment Facility, and
WHEREAS, Based upon the fact that the leaking water did not receive treatment at the sewage treatment facility, the Council finds it appropriate to waive that portion of the sewer billing that exceeds the normal and customary sewer usage by Welter, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that the normal sewer usage billing for Welter was approximately $16.50 per month, having been at or about that amount for a number of months, and finds, therefore, that the sewage billing of $62.86 if reduced by the normal usage of $16.50, would support a credit of $46.36 plus all applicable tax.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby waive a portion of the Sewer portion of the Welter account, as described herein, in the amount of $46.36 plus all applicable tax.
