RESOLUTION #10-30
Setting up Committee to begin Performance Evaluation process for Police Chief.
WHEREAS, The Monticello City Council previously approved a contract with the Chief of Police that directed the completion of semi-annual evaluations, and the establishment of written Council Policy Goals and Objectives on an annual basis, and
WHEREAS, To further the process of completing the evaluations, the Council desires to designate a committee to determine the process by which the evaluation is to occur, and
WHEREAS, After discussion, the Council finds that the committee should be comprised of the following individuals / positions:
Councilmen Yeoman, Merfeld, and Goedken, in addition to four (4) citizens to be appointed by the other three (3) councilmen and the Mayor. Councilmen Sauser and Hodge are to appoint someone from their ward to serve on the committee. Names of citizens so appointed shall be provided to the City Administrator who shall then coordinate with the committee in scheduling a time for them to meet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Monticello, Iowa does hereby direct that the committee, as designated as set forth previously herein, meet for the sole purpose of discussing and determining the process by which the Police Chief shall be evaluated.
