RESOLUTION #10-129
Resolution to approve installation of additional Parking Space at Public Safety Building and the use of Tax Increment Financing collections to fund project.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MONTICELLO, IOWA
WHEREAS, The City of Monticello Public Safety Building / Emergency Response Center is nearly complete and has been occupied by the Police and Ambulance Departments since early July, 2010, and
WHEREAS, Since occupying the building it has been determined that parking is at times at a premium and that there is enough ground within the unused alleyway off of South Street adjacent to the existing parking spots to the East of the current parking spots, and
WHEREAS, The Council finds that it is appropriate to install one more parking spot in the area of the unused alleyway and authorizes the Police Chief and Ambulance Director to hire a contractor to install said parking spot at a cost not to exceed $2,000 not accounting for cost of any required fill and trucking, same to be provided by the City, and
WHEREAS, The Public Safety Building is located in the Urban Renewal District and where the total project cost not to exceed $4,000, shall be payable from TIF funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Monticello, through its’ City Council, in session this 25th day of October 2010, that the Police Chief and Ambulance Director are hereby authorized to hire a contractor to install an additional parking spot adjacent to existing off street parking spots, within the area previously dedicated but never used for alley purposes and approve of the use of Tax Increment Financing collections to pay for the project..
