Goedken advised the Transfer Station has a serious issue, with the garbage not being moved out fast enough and DNR is looking to fine the Transfer Station $20,000. They are looking to raise the rates, however DNR regulates how often they can raise them. He stated the current hauler is not able to keep up with the garbage being hauled into the Transfer Station and if they break the contract, their costs will increase substantially. No action was taken.
Goedken also discussed a study bill that passed out of the committee, that is related to solid waste collection and disposal and establishing a maximum rate increase. He stated the Transfer Station may need to close if this passes. No action was taken.
Brenneman moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:13 P.M.
